MEN in the LEAD is a ministry that is committed to combat five major giants that the devil uses to fight the church of Christ. These giants include POVERTY, SPIRITUAL EMPTINESS, SICKNESS, WAR, and IGNORANCE.
The 1994 genocide in Rwanda has left an indelible imprint of suffering and pain that is still unresolved.
- Orphans: 15% of children are orphans because of the genocide
- AIDS: 2% of the population are HIV orphans because of the genocide
- Women: 250,000 were raped during the genocide
- Life Expectancy: 39 years
- Income: 85% of the population live on less than $2 a day
- The church today is challenged by all the mentioned issues that are mainly a result of the aftermath of the 1994 genocide. These people who were directly or indirectly affected by the genocide need not only spiritual support but also physical support.
It is in this regard that Men’s Ministry of Rwanda Victory Mission initiated a SOCIAL FUND aimed at empowering them socially and economically by starting up income generating projects for job creation. The ministry is also planning to start skills development training for unskilled and unemployed personnel in the church, the majority of which is youth ranging from 75-80% of the entire population.
The Ministry has also set up seven prayer warrior teams who pray for the ministry every day, with each team having its own day. The seven teams continue rotating to avoid any gap in prayer.
Furthermore, members of the men’s ministry meet in an overnight fellowship once every month. The purpose of this overnight fellowship is to worship God and meet new friends. Our fellowships also help us to encourage one another in the LORD and to present their petitions to God.
The Ministry has so far acquired some volunteers from overseas willing to partner with us towards achieving the ministry’s mission. More volunteers are welcome to join hands with us to overwhelm the devil.
